Sweden - 'The Venice of the North'

To some, Sweden may not seems like a typical European holiday destination in the same way that places such as France and Italy are. However, Sewden not only has a unique and fascinating history, it is also home to one of the most visually stunning capital cities in the world; Stockholm.

Stockholm or the ‘Venice of the North’ rests on a number of islands and so a boat tour through the city, such as the Royal Canal Tour, is not to be missed. The Tour lasts an hour or two and allows you to fully appreciate the 17th-18th century architecture from the crystal clear waterways.

A trip to Ostermalms Saluhall is a must as well. It’s an 1880s building that serves only the highest quality of food and produce that. Unique to the building is the many different international cuisines that are served via the many restaurants inside the Ostermalms Saluhall. The world renowned heritage building is definitely on the to-do list when traveling to Sweden.

As mentioned, although Sweden is often a "forgotten" country among many European destinations, it can be certain that any given traveler would have an unforgettable experience in this beautiful nation. Be sure to visit the "Venice on the North" - you will not regret it!
